I do not hear the sound at idle. I have listened with my mechanics stethoscope and I can hear the ticking coming from the valve cover over cylinders 1-3.There is a reason a valve adjustment is recommended at 100k. But, the noise seems to come and go - which leads me to suspect that it is unlikely to be valve adjustment ('cos this will only get worse, and is unlikely to be intermittent).
